Hello, I'm Cecilia Cruz Sandoval a freelance documentary and portrait photographer in Mexico. I've been creating images for over 12 years for clients and personal work. In photography, I find a way to communicate with others about my culture and what I like. Having my camera with me almost at all times encourages me to keep creating, keeps me agile and it's fun to see the world through the lens.
Teaching about photography is another avenue that I wanted to explore, I enjoy the process of creating content and sharing what I know with people that want to start in the medium or what to update their photographic skills. I do it online and in my studio, and onsite to university students locally.
In 2019, I finalized the degree of MFA in Photography from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. I published a book about my thesis work called The Ineffable Everyday Life. The project documents the life and people of Puebla, Mexico where I currently live.
